We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology division, you will serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will be responsible for implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions to support the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

1. Analyze, design, develop, code, test, debug, and document according to project requirements.
2. Be open to taking on different roles beyond your primary skill set and work on other technologies as needed.
3. Participate in functional and design reviews, identify efficiencies, and propose alternatives.
4. Conduct code reviews to ensure quality solutions are built following prescribed designs and best practices/standards.
5. Define test strategies, create test scenarios and cases for development (unit testing), system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and execute them.
6. Identify ways to improve design, development, and testing processes through automation or other means.
7. Troubleshoot production and performance issues under tight deadlines.
8. Collaborate with team members including DBAs, SAP BI Developers, Technical Architects, QA, Business Analysts, and Project Managers.
9. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the full project lifecycle.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

1. Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3+ years of applied experience.
2. Development experience in Operational Data Store / Data Warehouse environments.
3. Strong understanding of development lifecycles.
4. Solid skills in design, coding, testing, and debugging.
5. Full lifecycle experience in ETL/SAP BI projects.
6. Hands-on experience with SAP BW, BEX Queries, BW/4HANA, and Business Objects tools.
7. Proficiency in SAP advanced ABAP programming, HANA SQL scripting, and modeling.
8. Knowledge of the latest SAP HANA database versions, creating HANA views, and stored procedures using HANA Studio and/or Eclipse.
9. Understanding of release management, version control practices, and procedures.
10. Ability to analyze requirements and high-level design documents to develop various build options and solutions with minimal supervision.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

1. Exposure to S/4HANA concepts and Fiori applications is a plus.
2. Experience with visualization tools such as QlikView or Tableau is advantageous.
3. Experience with scheduling tools like Control-M is desirable.
4. Knowledge of SAP BW/BEX is an added advantage.
5. Experience in the finance industry is preferred.
