Job summary

Qualtrics, a fast-growing tech company in Seattle, seeks a Software Engineer II to join the XM Directory (XMD) Engineering team. You’ll build backend services and interfaces, own features, and collaborate with product, design, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable SaaS solutions.

The role emphasizes curiosity, initiative, and the ability to work in an agile environment as the company grows and evolves its data platform and AI-enabled experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 2+ years of software engineering experience (full-stack or backend).
• Solid algorithms, data structures, and coding fundamentals.
• Worked with design and product teams to understand needs and turn them into end-user features.
• Contributed to scalable, fast, robust web-based solutions that solve complex business problems.
• Exposure to web infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Experience with CI/CD, git, test automation, and build/deploy systems.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable, reliable backend services and web interfaces to solve customer problems.
• Implement new features and optimize existing ones to improve performance.
• Own well-scoped features and components, from design through delivery.
• Work with senior engineers to clarify requirements and contribute to technical designs.
• Use AI-assisted tools to move faster, and take responsibility for the correctness, security, and performance of what you ship.
• Write well-tested code, and give and receive feedback in code reviews.
• Work with product, design, and other XMD teams, and join daily stand-ups to deliver value to customers.
• Share what you learn and help improve engineering practices on your team.
