Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Aurora, CO (or Morrisville, NC) seeks Software Engineers to support satellite ground software across development, integration, deployment, and sustainment. The role requires ownership of hard problems, teamwork, and SDLC leadership. Strong Bash/Python/OOP in Linux required.

The team emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and a path for technical growth within a large aerospace group. On-site work at Aurora or Morrisville is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of development experience; 4 additional years may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at time of application.
• Experience with Agile programs.
• Experience with design, build, and deployment of software products.
• Experience in producing software architecture documentation.
• Full-stack software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Java 1.8+ (OOP).
• Experience developing microservice-based applications.
• Experience with automated CI/CD pipelines, including unit and integration tests and automation test frameworks such as Robot or Cucumber.
• Experience with version control systems.

Responsibilities

• Full stack development at OS, platform, and mission software layers.
• Applications spanning GO, Python, Postgres, Kubernetes/Docker, AWS provisioning, PKI, and static code analysis.
• Self-starter capable of budgeting and scheduling decisions.
• Develop software providing command and control for hardware systems.
• Develop software for activity planning and constraint checking for mission outcomes.
• Develop software enabling visualization of complex environments in 2D/3D with decision tools and user-centric interfaces.
