Job summary

Wonder is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale consumer-facing applications. You will design, implement, and maintain services with a focus on reliability and performance.

You will work with distributed systems in a fast-paced, product-driven environment using AWS, Docker, and CI/CD tooling to deliver high-availability features for customers in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science, programming or engineering related field.
• 5+ years experience building highly-scalable consumer-facing applications (e-commerce preferred).
• Experience with Java or other object-oriented languages.
• Experience architecting, designing, and developing testable, fault tolerant, and performant software.
• Experience with complex systems composed of multiple components across the network.
• Cloud experience (AWS) or similar offerings.

Responsibilities

• Build highly scalable, reliable additions to our platform.
• Accountable for delivery, deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of applications.
• Evaluates tools, technologies, and vendors for the platform with senior team members.
• Write performant code, review peers, ensure security and scalability.
• Create backlog of tech debt and features, suggest improvements.
• Collaborate with team members and be a team player.
