The role requires 5+ years of professional software development, 10+ years of programming, and experience mentoring teams; a CS degree is preferred.

Qualifications

5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
10+ years of programming with at least one software language.
5+ years of leading design or architecture of systems.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or engineering-team leader.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products to market.
Design and build technologies in a large distributed computing environment and lead industry changes.
Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems at scale and speed.
Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault‑tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage.
Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
