Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to design, build, and deliver scalable features impacting millions of customers. You will own end-to-end development from requirements to production, mentoring engineers and improving code quality and reliability.

You will collaborate with diverse teams, turn ambiguous problems into clear designs, and help shape the technical roadmap while operating production systems and driving operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer experience.
• 1+ years designing large-scale multi-tiered software using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software across the full development lifecycle with high-quality, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to understand needs and translate into scalable solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and coach others on best practices for clean code.
• Identify root causes of operational issues and drive permanent fixes for reliability.
• Evaluate new technologies and contribute to architecture reviews.
