Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a science, programming or engineering related field.
• 5+ years experience building highly-scalable consumer-facing applications.
• Experience with Java or other object-oriented languages.
• Experience architecting, designing, and developing testable, fault tolerant, and performant software.
• Experience with complex systems spread across the network.
• AWS experience.
• Automated testing experience (JUnit/Mockito/JMeter/Gatling).
• Strong fundamentals (data structures, algorithms).
• Experience developing highly-available distributed systems (4x9’s uptime).
• Building observability as part of the application.
• Experience modeling system resource requirements as load changes.
• Distributed NoSQL experience (Cassandra) preferred.
• CD/CI tools like Gradle, Jenkins, Spinnaker.
• Experience leading as an individual contributor.
• Ownership of upstream/downstream dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Gain expertise in your domain and build scalable, reliable additions to our platform.
• Be accountable for delivery, deployment, maintenance, and monitoring performance of applications.
• Evaluate tools, technologies, frameworks, and vendors with senior team members.
• Write performant, concise code, review peers’ code, ensure security and scalability.
• Help create backlog of tech debt and features, suggest improvements.
• Collaborate with domain teammates and be a team player.
