Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Digital Banking team in Jersey City, NJ. You will contribute to design, development, and secure, scalable software components across the SDLC, leveraging Java/Spring Boot, React.js, AWS, and AI-assisted tooling.

As part of an agile team, you will write high-quality code, participate in peer reviews, ensure security and reliability, and collaborate to understand data-driven requirements that drive product delivery.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of applied experience in software design, development, testing, and reliability.
• Strong Java tech stack experience (Spring/Spring Boot) and REST services.
• Experience with cloud tech (AWS) and messaging (Kafka/JMS/MQ).
• Proficiency with React.js and modern front-end patterns.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Executes standard software solution design, development, and troubleshooting.
• Writes secure, high-quality code using at least one language with minimal guidance.
• Uses AI coding tools to improve quality, speed, and productivity with peer review.
• Designs and troubleshoots with awareness of upstream/downstream systems.
• Gathers and analyzes large data sets to inform secure, stable development.
• Adheres to SDLC processes and agile practices in delivery.
