Job summary

JPMorganChase in Jersey City, NJ seeks a Software Engineer II to join the AM Tech Funds & Data team. You will design, develop, and troubleshoot software components for scalable, secure financial technology products within an agile team.

The role requires experience with Java, Spring Boot, and React, plus familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and the full software development lifecycle. You’ll contribute to secure, stable code and collaborate across interfaces and data systems.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 2+ years practical experience
Hands-on experience in system design, development, testing, and operational stability
Experience with Java, Spring Boot and front-end React in corporate environments
Experience with AI-assisted development tools used in coding, testing, or documentation

Responsibilities

Executes standard software solution design, development, and troubleshooting; writes secure, high-quality code with limited guidance
Uses enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit tests, documentation) with peer review and secure coding standards
Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
Applies SDLC tools including AI-assisted development to improve automation value
Applies troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve basic complex problems
Gathers and analyzes large data sets to identify problems and support secure, stable application development
Learns system processes and skills for secure, stable code and systems
