Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Software Engineer II for the Developer Platform Team. You will deliver platform improvements that accelerate engineering journeys, improve reliability, and ease use across services.

Ideal candidates will own well-scoped initiatives, write production-grade code, and collaborate with multiple teams to turn friction into durable, automated platform capabilities.

Qualifications

Independent delivery of moderate-complexity engineering projects with good judgment.
Strong software fundamentals and production codebase experience.
Experience improving developer workflows, CI/CD, or internal tools.
Ability to debug complex issues and deliver durable fixes.
Clear written and verbal communication across teams.

Responsibilities

Improve Developer Velocity by accelerating local development and reducing CI wait times.
Strengthen Shared Engineering Foundations within Scala, Bazel, CI, and platform ecosystems.
Reduce Engineering Toil by automating repetitive processes and improving self-service capabilities.
Improve Reliability & Signal Quality through higher CI success and faster diagnosis.
Apply AI-Assisted Engineering Practices to migrations, testing, and guardrails.
Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration with Product Engineering, Infrastructure, SRE, Security, and QA.
