Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join Platform & Infrastructure Engineering. This fully remote-first role offers hybrid or on-site options within proximity to European locations.

You will design and implement business logic, authentication, and infrastructure primitives as part of a new product line. You will own API design and infrastructure interfaces, work on virtualization, IaC, and large-scale operations, and collaborate across teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Backend & API engineering experience
• Production experience with at least one modern backend language (Go, Python, Java, or Rust)
• Experience designing and building APIs as a stable interface for infrastructure consumption
• Familiarity with IaaS provisioning stacks: OpenStack (Nova/Ironic/Octavia), KubeVirt/QEMU/libvirt, Ceph, LVM Kubernetes or comparable orchestration
• Virtualization platforms (KVM/OpenStack or similar)
• Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Ansible)
• Large-scale infrastructure operations
• Mindset & Ways of Working
• Solution-agnostic: evaluates build-vs-buy without defaulting to a specific stack
• Ownership spanning backend and infrastructure
• On-call and production incident response
• 10+ years combined experience, English fluent, German nice to have

Responsibilities

• Create business logic for the new product line including authentication and infra primitives
• Expose infrastructure primitives like virtual servers, storage, networking, accounts, projects and feature flags
• Support on-top products and managed services through robust APIs
• Work with a green-field design, code and infrastructure decisions aligned with product strategy
