Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a software engineer to advance production-grade solutions across complex data-driven applications. You will design, implement, test, and troubleshoot secure software in a large corporate environment, collaborating across teams to ensure resiliency and performance.

The role emphasizes modern front-end exposure (React/Angular) and cloud services (AWS). You will contribute to architecture artifacts and support continuous improvement in coding practices and system design.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 3+ years applied experience.
• Writes secure and high-quality code using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs with limited guidance.
• Designs and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to inform secure, stable application development.
• Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes in cloud, AI/ML, mobile, etc.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or break down problems.
• Creates secure, high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensures design constraints are met by code development.
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and visualizes data to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
• Proactively identifies hidden problems in data and uses insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new technologies.
• Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
• Preferred: familiarity with modern front-end technologies and cloud architectures.
