Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Software Engineer II (Applications) to help design, develop and test software for training and simulation products. You will work within an Agile team and contribute to stand-alone, networked, cloud-based tools while mentoring peers.

Responsibilities include delivering on schedule, supporting algorithm design from requirements, and writing unit tests. Occasional travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of Windows or Linux application software development experience.
• Expertise in C# .Net, C++, and/or QT.
• Expertise in Unity development.
• Experience writing unit tests and debugging code.
• Experience with Agile Software Development Process Management.
• Familiarity with SVN and Git.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Works within a defined software life cycle development process.
• Understands the requirements and process; participates in software design reviews.
• Creates software design documentation according to software process requirements and guidance from Senior Engineers.
• Implements coding according to coding standards; writes tests and validates software.
• Delivers work on time according to project schedule & budget.
• Supports and derives algorithm design from detailed software requirements.
• Collaborates with multiple teams to reuse software across programs.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
• Analyzes problems with factors to determine action; builds internal/external relationships.
• Other duties as assigned.
