Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Software Engineer I to contribute to design, development, and testing of software for new products including cloud-based tools. You will work under mentorship in a fast-paced Agile environment.

The role involves planning, coding, debugging, and validating software, with unit testing and participation in design reviews. Travel is occasional, and familiarity with C#, Java, C++, or Web UI is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• 0-2 years of relevant experience in Windows or Linux application software development with OO design
• Expertise in C#/.Net, Java, C++, or Web UI
• Familiar with SVN and Git source control tools
• Experience writing unit tests and debugging techniques
• Knowledge of data structures, databases, and operating systems
• Willingness to travel locally (Occasionally)

Responsibilities

• Works within a defined software life cycle development process
• Supports the full life-cycle of product including design, coding, debugging, test, deployment and maintenance
• Codes, simulates, integrates and validates software; writes quality, modular, testable code and unit tests
• Participates in software design reviews
• Delivers work on time according to estimates and project schedule & budget
• Supports algorithm design from detailed software requirements
• Uses JIRA to track tasks and collaborates with multiple teams
• Follows AV's software development process under supervision
• Works on problems of limited scope in a learning environment
• Collaborates with other engineering disciplines
• Other duties as assigned
