Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Software Engineer (Level 2) to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, large data sets, real-time software, and management information systems. You may work solo or lead teams to review, test, and optimize components.

This role requires a BS in Computer Science/Engineering, 14 years of SWE experience, 4 years substitutable, and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph. ITAR/EAR compliance applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.
• 14 years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs with similar scope.
• 4 years of additional SWE experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: oversee one or more software development teams.
• Complex Development: design or implement complex algorithms with strict constraints.
• System Design & Integration: collaborate with system/hardware engineers to derive software requirements.
• Quality Control: perform quality control on team products and improve processes.
• Analysis & Modification: design, develop, and modify software using mathematical models.
• Installation & Monitoring: coordinate software installation and monitor operation.
• Documentation: write or review software and system documentation.
• Database Interaction: design or implement complex database interfaces and queries.
