Job summary

Cox Automotive, a leading automotive technology company, seeks a Software Engineer II for NextGear Capital. You will build and evolve systems powering critical inventory finance operations, collaborating with product managers, architects, and engineers to design, test, and deliver high-quality software that drives measurable value for customers and internal teams.

You’ll work across the full stack, apply AI-enabled workflows, and own feature delivery with minimal oversight while maintaining code

Qualifications

• AI-augmented mindset and SDLC tool use
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Full stack proficiency across backend/frontend with SQL
• Experience with Git workflows and team collaboration
• Observability skills with logs, metrics and dashboards
• Clear communication of tradeoffs to stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AI agents to build, test, and deploy software across the SDLC
• Contribute to prompt engineering and tool usage insights
• Participate in design discussions and estimate technical effort
• Develop unit and system tests enforcing secure coding practices
• Provide troubleshooting and feature enhancement support
• Use observability tools to monitor health and validate changes in production
• Document processes and share best practices with the team
• Update stakeholders on status, blockers, and risks
• Engage in code reviews and drive ownership of tasks
