Job summary

Sorenson Communications is seeking a software engineer to design, build, and maintain high‑quality video communication applications. You will lead a team, develop features using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, HTML, and CSS, and drive improvements in performance and usability.

Responsibilities include implementing standards-based protocols, evaluating new technologies, and ensuring robust engineering practices with testing and reviews. Some on‑call support may be required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in CS, EE, or equivalent with excellent grades.
• 3+ years of experience developing state-of-the-art applications.
• Strong knowledge of React, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, HTML, and CSS.

• Provide technical and team leadership in design, implementation, and testing of high‑performance video communication apps.
• Develop and test features primarily in React, Node, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, HTML, and CSS.
• Create innovative solutions to improve performance and usability.
• Implement standards-based protocols (XML, JSON, HTTP, REST).
• Recommend new technologies and directions for product development.
• Maintain aggressive yet attainable goals and timelines.
• Drive standards-based architectures and services.
• Follow engineering best practices and write automated tests.
• Review and evaluate code written by peers.
• Support production deployments and respond to incidents, including after hours if needed.
• Demonstrate strong software design and quick learning of new tech.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range:

Actual pay may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for incentive compensation.

• Excellent software design and problem analysis skills with an ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts
• Other duties as assigned

Experience/Education/Certifications

• BS degree in CS, EE, or equivalent with excellent grades
• 3+ years of experience developing state-of-the-art applications
• Strong knowledge of React, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, HTML, and CSS
• Experience building applications with React, Angular, or Vue
• Experience building REST APIs in C#, Node.js, or similar
• Knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Route53, etc
• AWS Certification preferred

• Physical Demands
  • Able to sit/ stand for a long period of time in an office environment
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Regular and predictable attendance required.
• Positive attitude, team player, good interpersonal communication skills and able to work across company departments.
