Job summary

Sorenson Communications, LLC is seeking a software engineer to lead the design, development, and testing of high-performance video communication applications. You will work primarily with React, Node, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, HTML, and CSS, and contribute to robust REST APIs and cloud services.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, collaboration across teams, and delivering reliable, scalable software in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in CS, EE, or equivalent with strong academic performance.
• 3+ years of experience developing state-of-the-art applications.
• Strong knowledge of React, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, HTML, and CSS.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and team leadership in design, implementation, and testing of high-performance applications.
• Develop and test application features primarily in React, Node, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, HTML, and CSS.
• Use AI development tools to improve performance and usability.
• Implement RESTful APIs and standards-based architectures.
• Participate in deployments and respond to escalated issues, including after-hours as needed.
• Review peers' code and uphold engineering best practices.

Pay Range:

Actual pay may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for incentive compensation.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required

• Provide technical and team leadership in the design, implementation, and testing of high-performance, high-quality video communication applications
• Develop and test application features primarily in React, Node, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, HTML, and CSS
• Effectively use AI development tools to create innovative solutions that increase application performance, and usability
• Implement standards-based communication protocols and related technologies including XML, JSON, HTTP, and REST
• Recommend new technologies or direction for product development
• Keep aggressive, attainable goals and time frames
• Drive standards-based architectures and supporting services
• Follow engineering best practices in a team environment to develop high-quality products including writing automated unit, component, and feature level testing
• Review and evaluate code written by peers
• Support production environments by participating in deployments, responding quickly to escalated issues, understanding that some of these events may happen during non-work hours
• Excellent software design and problem analysis skills with an ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts
• Other duties as assigned

Experience/Education/Certifications

• BS degree in CS, EE, or equivalent with excellent grades
• 3+ years of experience developing state-of-the‑art applications
• Strong knowledge of React, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, HTML, and CSS
• Experience building applications with React, Angular, or Vue
• Experience building REST APIs in C#, Node.js, or similar
• Knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Route53, etc
• AWS Certification preferred

• Physical Demands
• Able to sit/ stand for a long period of time in an office environment
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components
• Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Regular and predictable attendance required.
• Positive attitude, team player, good interpersonal communication skills and able to work across company departments.
