Job summary

Avalon Healthcare Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our remote-friendly team supporting healthcare data platforms. You will design, develop, test, and maintain applications and services across the Diagnostic Insights Platform, collaborating with cross-functional partners to meet evolving business needs.

The role requires strong coding skills, experience with modern web services and cloud tooling, and a commitment to quality in a fast-paced health-tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, CS, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Jetty, Apache Camel, Drools, Linux, Docker, AWS, Spring, Kafka, and Lambda.
• Proficient in SQL (T-SQL preferred) and middleware/web services (REST/SOAP).
• Strong communication and Agile software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Create a detailed design document from business requirements and assess design options.
• Read and maintain complex data models and diagrams.
• Develop unit tests and functional test plans.
• Triage and resolve application and integration issues, document defects.
• Develop modular, reusable code using SQL data sources and design patterns.
• Follow Avalon Agile SDLC/Change Management process and coding standards.
• Deliver and support software solutions for 24x7x365 operations.
