Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Engineer in the Missile Defense Sensors Software Department to design, develop, test, and release real-time software for radar and C2 systems. The role is 100% onsite in Woburn, MA, aligning with Agile and DevSecOps practices and a focus on high-quality, safety‑critical deployments.

The ideal candidate will build software for programs like AN/TPY-2, SBX/XBR, and SRP, and possess a strong foundation in software design, collaboration, and problem-solving in fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related (STEM) discipline.
• Experience developing software with C, C++, Java, or Ada.
• CI/CD tools (Jenkins), configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory), and data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python).
• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications.
• Well-developed communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience contributing to a team environment for developing creative solutions to complex technical problems.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
• Ability to promote a culture of continuous learning, cross-team collaboration and training.

Responsibilities

• Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time application software and tools.
• Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
• Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
• Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
• Work on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering software for one of the MDS Department’s programs.
