Job summary

Amentum in Hanover, MD is seeking a Software Engineer to join the DevOps team. You will contribute across the software development lifecycle, from requirements through deployment and operations, working with instructors, developers, and system administrators to deliver cyber training capabilities.

Ideal candidates bring experience with Python/JavaScript, CI/CD, Linux/Windows, and a desire to grow across the lifecycle in a dynamic, mission-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum education aligned with degree requirements in CS/Software Engineering or related field.
• Experience contributing to software development, DevOps, or application support.
• Familiarity with one or more programming languages and OOP concepts.
• Exposure to Agile software development practices.
• Exposure to virtualization or container technologies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software applications across the lifecycle.
• Contribute to pipelines, automation, and data processing solutions.
• Support software development environments and deployment configurations.
• Collaborate with instructors, developers, system administrators, and other teams to improve training capabilities.
• Document software designs, configurations, and procedures.
