Job summary

Amentum seeks a Software Engineer to join the DevOps team in Hanover, MD, delivering cyber training solutions across locations. You will contribute to design, development, deployment, and maintenance of software and infrastructure, collaborating with instructors, developers, and system administrators.

The role spans multiple stack areas, including UI, backend services, APIs, automation, and data processing, with emphasis on improving pipelines, environments, and course delivery capabilities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field plus 2 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in same fields plus 5 years of relevant experience
• Associate degree (or 18 sem hours) plus 7 years of relevant experience
• High school diploma/GED plus 9 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain software applications and infrastructure
• Analyze requirements and develop technical solutions aligning with mission needs
• Develop UIs, backend services, APIs, automation tools, and data processing
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Configure and maintain applications in virtualized and containerized environments
• Develop and maintain databases and data flows
• Support realistic cyber training environments and simulations
• Test, debug, and analyze software results
• Evaluate new technologies and propose improvements
• Document designs, configurations, and procedures
• Collaborate across instructors, developers, admins to improve training capabilities
• Identify opportunities to improve applications and user experiences
