Job summary

Amentum seeks a Software Engineer to join the DevOps team in Hanover, MD, delivering cyber training software and infrastructure. You will contribute across the lifecycle from design to deployment, collaborating with instructors, developers, and system administrators.

Ideal candidates enjoy tackling complex tech challenges, integrating across a diverse portfolio, and applying skills to improve training capabilities and workflows. TS/SCI with Poly is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with one or more of Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Java, or C++.
• Proficiency in web UI design using HTML, CSS, AJAX, JSON/XML, JavaScript/TypeScript, and JQuery.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL and relational databases (MySQL/MongoDB preferred).
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain software applications supporting cyber training environments.
• Analyze requirements and develop technical solutions that support mission and customer needs.
• Develop interfaces, backend services, APIs, automation tools, and data processing solutions.
• Contribute to software development pipelines implementation and maintenance.
• Configure, deploy, and maintain applications in virtualized and container environments.
• Develop and maintain databases, dataflows, scripts, and automation solutions.
• Support the creation of realistic cyber training environments and simulations.
• Perform software testing, debugging, validation, and analysis.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements.
• Document software designs, configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Collaborate with instructors, developers, sysadmins, and other teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve applications and user experiences.
