Job summary

RTX's software team in Indianapolis, IN is seeking software engineers to join a development group for Battle Management, Command & Control, and other defense systems. You will contribute to world-class software across aerospace and defense products, collaborating in cross-functional teams and applying agile methods.

You will work with languages like C++, Java, and C#, leverage data structures and algorithms, and help integrate modular components in a secure, high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or similar technical degree.
• Experience designing and programming with C++, Java, C# or other object-oriented language.
• Experience developing and debugging software using object-oriented programming principles (e.g., C++, Java, Python, or C#).
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications.
• Experience utilizing Generative AI tools or machine learning-assisted technologies to accelerate workflows, automate tasks, or improve code quality.
• Experience with open systems architecture (OSA) and modular design principles, including APIs and modular interfaces.
• Experience identifying and resolving operational or documentation deficiencies in an engineering environment (Technical Problem Solving).

Responsibilities

• Participate in collaborative, cross-discipline teams, employing agile software development to develop and integrate complex software for aerospace/defense applications.
• Contribute as a software team member and possibly lead a small software team on a product area.
