RTX in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking software engineers to join a mission-focused team delivering Battle Management, Command & Control, and sensor systems for aerospace and defense applications. You will participate in collaborative, cross-discipline teams, use agile methods, and contribute to system-level software integration.

Candidates have a STEM degree and experience in OO languages (C++, Java, C#), data structures, multithreading, and AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related technical field.
• Experience designing and programming with C++, Java, C# or other OO language.
• Experience developing and debugging software using OO programming principles and data structures.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications.
• Experience utilizing Generative AI tools to accelerate technical workflows and automate repetitive tasks.
• Experience with open systems architecture (OSA) and modular design principles, including APIs and modular interfaces.
• Experience identifying and resolving operational or documentation deficiencies within an engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross-disciplinary integrated product teams.
• Employ agile software development techniques to develop, test, and integrate software and systems.
• Contribute as a software team member and possibly lead a small software team.
