Job summary

Evlo AI is seeking a hands-on full-stack software engineer to ship user-facing products end to end. You’ll work on React frontends and Node.js/Python backends, with cloud services, databases, and a design system alongside product managers and designers.

You’ll own features from API design through production monitoring, write tests, and help optimize performance at scale for hundreds of thousands of daily users.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of professional software engineering experience shipping production web applications.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript across frontend and backend environments.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and query performance tuning.
• Experience deploying and operating services on AWS, GCP, or Azure with Docker and CI/CD workflows.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Track record of owning features end to end and delivering tested, production-ready code.
• Bonus: React Native or iOS/Android, Terraform or Kubernetes, GraphQL API design.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship full-stack features using TypeScript, React, and Node.js, owning implementation from API design through frontend polish.
• Design and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs backed by PostgreSQL, including schema migrations, indexing strategy, and query optimization.
• Develop and maintain shared frontend component libraries and design system integrations used across web and mobile surfaces.
• Instrument services with logging, metrics, and distributed tracing; participate in on-call rotation and production incident response.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (Jest, Playwright); maintain high test coverage in CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to architecture reviews and technical design documents for new features and platform improvements.
• Collaborate with product and design in sprint planning, breaking down epics into well-scoped, shippable tickets.

The role is a full-stack software engineer focused on building and shipping user-facing products end to end - from React frontends and mobile clients to Node.js and Python backend services running on cloud infrastructure. You will join a small, senior product engineering team that owns features from design handoff through production monitoring, working closely with product managers, designers, and platform engineers on a codebase serving hundreds of thousands of daily active users.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and ship full-stack features using TypeScript, React, and Node.js, owning implementation from API design through frontend polish
• Design and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs backed by PostgreSQL, including schema migrations, indexing strategy, and query optimization
• Develop and maintain shared frontend component libraries and design system integrations used across web and mobile surfaces
• Instrument services with logging, metrics, and distributed tracing (Datadog or OpenTelemetry); own on-call rotation participation and production incident response
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (Jest, Playwright); maintain high test coverage in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)

• Collaborate with product and design in sprint planning, breaking down epics into well-scoped, shippable tickets

What We Are Looking For

• 3-6 years of professional software engineering experience shipping production web applications
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript across both frontend (React or Next.js) and backend (Node.js or Express) environments
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL), including data modeling and query performance tuning
• Experience deploying and operating services on AWS, GCP, or Azure, including containerization with Docker and CI/CD workflows
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Track record of owning features end to end - taking ambiguous requirements and delivering tested, monitored, production-ready code
• Bonus: React Native or iOS/Android experience, Terraform or Kubernetes exposure, GraphQL API design, or experience at a venture-backed startup
