Full Stack Engineer TypeScript, React, Next.js & AWS

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to build and maintain production business applications across frontend interfaces, backend services, databases, and cloud infrastructure.

Our applications support operational workflows, customer enrollment, document management, approvals, payment collection, and third-party integrations. These systems handle sensitive information and require strong attention to security, data integrity, and reliability.

You will own work from requirements through production. This includes understanding an existing codebase, determining the technical approach, identifying risks, and delivering complete solutions without step-by-step technical guidance.

Responsibilities

Application Development

• Build responsive, accessible interfaces using React and Next.js, including multistep forms, dashboards, reporting views, and administrative tools.
• Develop TypeScript APIs and backend services with input validation, authentication, and server-side authorization.
• Implement clear loading, validation, and error states, including recovery from interrupted requests and repeated submissions.
• Maintain shared packages and consistent application behavior within npm workspace monorepos.

Integrations and Background Processing

• Connect applications with CRM systems, payment providers, electronic signature platforms, and other external services.
• Build webhook handlers that verify authenticity and safely process duplicate or out-of-order events.
• Develop asynchronous workflows using AWS Lambda and SQS, accounting for retries, partial failures, and synchronization with external systems.
• Implement document processing, approval flows, and workflow state changes.

Databases and Security

• Design and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, indexes, queries, and migrations using Prisma.
• Work with DynamoDB for application records and S3 for document storage.
• Preserve tenant isolation across database access, APIs, background jobs, and reporting.
• Implement transactions, concurrency controls, and audit trails that protect data integrity and preserve historical records.
• Protect credentials, payment information, and personal data through secure configuration, access controls, and appropriate logging practices.

Infrastructure and Delivery

• Deploy and troubleshoot applications using AWS services, including Lambda, SQS, S3, ECS, and Secrets Manager.
• Modify infrastructure through Terraform or AWS CDK, reviewing deployment impact and recovery options.
• Build and maintain Docker-based applications and GitHub Actions pipelines.
• Write meaningful automated tests, review pull requests, and document important technical decisions.
• Investigate production issues across the stack and implement fixes that address their root causes.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience independently delivering and maintaining production full stack applications.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, Next.js App Router, and Node.js.
• Solid PostgreSQL experience, including schema design, migrations, and query troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, asynchronous processing, and third-party API integrations.
• Working proficiency with Docker, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical knowledge of application security, automated testing, and production troubleshooting.
• Strong technical judgment and the ability to turn business requirements into reliable software with limited oversight.

Preferred Experience

• Prisma, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
• Payment vaults and processors, such as Evervault and Authorize.net.
• Electronic signature platforms, such as DocuSeal.
• Multi-tenant architectures using a separate database for each organization.
• Client certificates, mutual TLS, and device-based access controls.
• Append-only audit models and workforce or document management systems.

Experience with every named vendor is not required; the core qualifications above are essential.

Ownership Expectations

You will be expected to clarify missing requirements, make routine implementation decisions independently, and raise significant risks with a recommended path forward. Ownership extends through deployment and verification, including resolving issues in the functionality you deliver.

Interview Focus

Be prepared to discuss a production feature you personally delivered across a user interface, an API, and a background process. We will explore your technical decisions, handling of failure scenarios, and release approach, along with a production issue you diagnosed and resolved.
