Intuitive Surgical, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to support emulation, automated testing, and the internal da Vinci emulator. You will contribute to building, deploying, and sustaining our test framework and system emulator in a high-energy team.

The role requires learning the evolving da Vinci software stack, debugging complex systems, and collaborating with engineers across disciplines to deliver reliable, testable software in a hands-on environment in Sunnyvale, CA.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years of experience and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent experience
• Experience understanding and debugging complex systems
• Experience using Python and C++
• Proficient communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of talented engineers.

Responsibilities

• Expand the functionality of the internal da Vinci emulator by faithfully emulating embedded computers, microcontrollers, sensors, FPGAs, or physics models
• Maintain operation of automated test rigs. The primary task involves debugging the integration of multiple software systems within the test rig
• Assist in the development of an internal test framework for informal continuous integration and formal verification and validation of system software
• Learn and explore the continuously evolving da Vinci system software and firmware.
