GeoDelphi, Inc. dba Whitespace is seeking a Software Engineer to build cutting-edge Iris platform solutions. This is a 100% remote role with a 10% travel requirement to the DMV region.

Applicants must be US citizens and reside in the contiguous United States. The position reports to the VP of Engineering and requires strong coding, testing, and DevOps skills. Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a software engineering role.
• Expert with at least one language and strong experience with several others (Python, React, Java).
• Experience with public clouds such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Rackspace.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production software.
• Strong coding abilities with emphasis on quality and testability.
• Solid understanding of DevOps and software development processes.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Nexus).
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and query optimization.
• Ability to gather client requirements and resolve workflow problems through automation.
• Proven ability to collaboratively work in small teams.

Software Engineer

Location: Remote / Alexandria, VA

Clearance: Active TS/SCI or eligibility to be cleared

GeoDelphi, Inc. dba Whitespace is seeking a dynamic and innovative Software Engineer to build cutting-edge solutions within our Iris platform. You’ll be essential to the digital offering which is broken into a technological stack that is comprised of a source, engine, analytic, and a story layer. The engineering team is the technological backbone of the Iris platform working in the ‘engine layer’ to discover the ground truth. You’ll work with a team of engineers and developers designing tools to provide technical solutions to complex questions. The ideal candidate is creative, a problem solver, developer, designer, and appreciates delivering high-quality products. This position will report to the VP of Engineering.

This position is 100% remote! It does require 10% travel to the DMV region. The candidate MUST be a US citizen and reside in the contiguous United States. The candidate must be a W2 employee of GeoDelphi, Inc. No 3rd party applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, and maintain application phases.

EXPERIENCE

• Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a software engineering role

• Expert with at least one language and desire good experience with several others (Python, React, Java, etc.)
• Experience with public clouds such as AWS, Google, Rackspace
• Experience in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production software
• Strong coding abilities emphasizing quality and testability in your work.
• Strong understanding of DevOps and software/application development processes
• Demonstrated experience with continuous integration and software CM processes/tools (GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Nexus, and other DevOps/Continuous Integration tools)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and query optimization
• Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization
• Demonstrated ability to creatively solve technical problems
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within small teams

DESIRED SKILLS

• Experience interacting with AWS SDK, AWS API, AWS CLI, and AWS CloudFormation
• Experience with population simulation, or other data simulation
• Experience with geospatial engineering
• Experience with Big Data processing tools, such as Spark/Hadoop, Google’s BigQuery, AWS’s Athena and EMR
• Strong data visualization skills
