Job summary

Roku, Inc. in California seeks a software engineer to research, design, and develop data processing applications and features for large-scale pipelines.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to build RESTful APIs, deploy data products, and contribute to CI/CD efforts using Java and containerized deployment. Qualifications include a BS in CS or related field and at least 1 year of experience, with hands-on work in AWS or GCP, Airflow, Spark, and ETL design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 1 year of experience in the position or in a related occupation.
• Experience deploying to and operating in AWS or GCP.
• OO programming language: Java or Python.
• Building data pipelines using Airflow and Spark.
• Big data design experience.
• ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Load).
• Architecting software designs for Big data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop computer software programs.
• Develop, create, and modify computer applications software.
• Work with an engineering team to design, develop, and maintain large-scale, highly performant data processing applications.
• Own building features, working directly with product and other engineering teams.
• Demonstrate communication skills in working with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deliver top-quality software in a timely fashion.
• Build data pipelines to process advertising data using Spark, Airflow and Hive.
• Build RESTful APIs for internal access to data products using Java and containerized deployment.
• Configure CI/CD processes for data products and services.
