Job summary

Roku, Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer to design, develop and deploy scalable web applications and services. You will drive architecture discussions, own new projects, and deliver high-quality software within tight timelines.

Collaborate with security teams to meet compliance and audit requirements while advancing engineering tools and cloud-based technologies. Strong cross-functional communication and Agile participation are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 10 years of progressive experience in the position or a related occupation.
• Delivery of multi-tier, highly scalable, distributed web applications.
• Software architecture, object-oriented design principles, and data structures.
• Developing microservices using Java, Spring, Python and CI/CD.
• Experience in SQL and NoSQL including Oracle database design.
• AWS Cloud including EC2, S3, RDS, SQS, VPC, and Elastic Cache.
• Google Cloud including Cloud Datastore, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy scalable web applications and services.
• Drive architecture discussions and own new projects.
• Partner with security and compliance teams to meet requirements.
• Improve engineering tools, cloud technologies, and processes.
• Participate in Agile development processes end-to-end.
