Job summary

Amazon in New York is seeking a software engineer to design, build, and operate large‑scale distributed services that power billions of ad impressions daily. You will apply LLMs and AI to create personalized, contextually relevant ad experiences and collaborate with cross‑functional teams on high‑impact architectures.

You’ll help shape stewarded, reliable ad serving systems across Amazon pages worldwide, writing maintainable code and improving operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate large‑scale distributed services capable of processing millions of requests daily with low latency and high availability
• Leverage LLMs and Generative AI to solve complex problems and deliver personalized, contextually relevant ad experiences
• Partner with engineering, science, and business teams to design, implement, and launch new shopper‑facing ad experiences
• Collaborate with senior SDEs and Principal Engineers on architecture and system design for high‑impact, strategic projects
• Build and optimize ad serving infrastructure that scales to serve billions of impressions across Amazon pages worldwide
• Write high‑quality, maintainable code and drive operational excellence through monitoring and continuous improvement
