Amazon Advertising is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team in New York, NY. You will help build scalable APIs and AI-enabled insights for advertisers, focusing on low latency and efficient data processing at scale.

You will design, mentor, and lead engineering efforts across distributed systems while partnering with product teams to deliver high‑impact experiences for advertisers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• 7+ years of full software development life cycle incl. coding standards, reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable architectures for APIs serving millions of advertisers at thousands of transactions per second.
• Build Model Context Protocol (MCP) server infrastructure—an emerging standard for AI agent-data interaction—that delivers advertiser context with sub-second latency and minimal token consumption.
• Establish system design patterns and best practices for global ads experience at scale.
• Partner with Product teams to deliver delightful experiences.
