Job summary

Tenaska is seeking a Software Engineer to develop, enhance, and support Windows services, APIs, and applications while translating needs into testable solutions. You will work with business users, leverage AI tools to accelerate delivery, and maintain security and quality across multiple priorities from discovery through production.

This role requires strong .NET experience (including .NET Core), collaboration, and the ability to own a product slice end to end; on-call rotation is included for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but commensurate experience acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• 2+ years of experience with .NET (ideally C#).
• Experience integrating and evaluating agentic AI capabilities within development workflows.
• Experience directing AI coding tools and reviewing AI output for accuracy and security.
• Hands-on use of AI tools in professional or personal projects.
• Strong self-motivation and team player mindset.
• Ability to own a solution from discovery through production validation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with Transaction-SQL (T-SQL) and SQL diagnostics.
• Experience with .NET Core and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop services and applications for Windows and APIs.
• Maintain and improve existing systems.
• Collaborate with business users to translate needs into testable requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Utilize AI tools as co-authors and coding agents to accelerate delivery.
• Supervise AI outputs, ensuring accuracy, security, and completeness.
• Own a solution end to end from discovery to production verification.
• Apply product judgment to define outcomes and MVP-to-scale sequencing.
• Follow CI/CD best practices and escalate architecture or security decisions when needed.
• Work on-call for Enterprise Technology applications on a rotating schedule.
• Engage with business users and quickly adapt to software needs.
