Job summary

TENEX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our core engineering team in San Jose. You will own major product and infrastructure initiatives across the stack, building scalable, reliable, and secure systems while guiding peers and upholding coding excellence.

You'll collaborate with product and design, shape platform evolution, and tackle challenging engineering problems in security, AI, and distributed systems. Expect a path toward leadership as the company scales.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in backend languages such as Go or Python.
• Experience with frontend frameworks like React, Next.js, TypeScript, or similar.
• Strong relational DB experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Cloud experience (GCP or AWS).
• Ability to take ownership of complex projects end-to-end.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend services and APIs.
• Build and maintain intuitive frontend applications.
• Take ownership of projects end-to-end from architecture to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to implement new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Participate in design and code reviews to raise engineering quality.
• Troubleshoot complex issues; ensure system reliability.
• Contribute to improving engineering processes and team practices.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and bring new ideas to the team.
