Job summary

Kaizen, a government-focused software company, is seeking a talented software engineer to own end-to-end features for a high-impact platform serving federal agencies. You will collaborate with design leadership, engage with agency stakeholders, and ship AI-powered solutions that scale in a regulated environment.

You’ll work in a hybrid setup in New York City or Washington DC, pairing with teams to deliver fast, reliable software while leveraging AI tooling as a force multiplier.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of professional engineering experience.
• Fluent in React/Next.js and Node.js/TypeScript.
• Experience shipping with AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude).

Responsibilities

• Own full-stack features from scoping to shipped product.
• Build AI-powered surfaces: intake flows, real-time assistants, automated routing.
• Engage with federal agency stakeholders to translate requirements into product.
• Ensure platform reliability and performance at scale with strict SLAs.
• Maintain clean, well-tested codebase for future engineers.
