Job summary

AeroVironment seeks a Software Engineer in Moorpark, CA to join a fast-moving, Agile team that designs, develops and tests software for cloud-based tools and other applications. You will work across Windows and Linux platforms and collaborate with senior engineers to deliver high-quality software.

The role requires a technical bachelor's degree and 2–5 years of experience with C#/.NET, Java, C++, or Web UI, plus unit testing and lifecycle discipline; some local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics or equivalent
• 2–5 years of Windows or Linux application software development experience
• Expertise in C# .NET, Java, C++, or Web UI
• Experience writing unit tests and debugging code
• Familiarity with formal lifecycle development processes
• Experience with Agile software development process management
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Familiarity with SVN and Git, IDEs and debuggers
• Willingness to travel locally (Occasionally)

Responsibilities

• Work within a defined software life cycle development process
• Understand requirements and participate in design reviews
• Create software design documentation
• Implement coding and testing, and contribute to process improvements
• Deliver work on time per project schedule and budget
• Support algorithm design from detailed software requirements
• Collaborate with multiple teams to reuse software across programs
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
• Operate with moderate supervision in a learning environment
• Build productive internal/external working relationships
• Perform other duties as assigned
