Job summary

Vercel is seeking an engineer on the Agentic Infrastructure team to own the systems that carry work at scale, shaping performance, reliability, and developer productivity.

You'll design, operate, and evolve the platform, collaborating across teams to ensure fast, secure workflows for customers and their agents. This role blends product thinking with deep systems ownership and offers opportunities to mentor others and contribute to open-source.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing, building, and operating backend apps and distributed systems at scale.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript proficiency for complex systems.
• Proficient with AWS and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• End-to-end ownership from design to production operation.
• Cross-team collaboration to align priorities and goals.
• Ability to reason about architectural direction and tradeoffs.
• Mentorship and ability to raise the bar for the team.
• Curious, eager to learn, and motivated to push software boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve infrastructure powering build/deploy lifecycle, including webhooks and scalable APIs.
• Design and operate high-performance microservices handling millions of builds daily.
• Lead projects end-to-end, delivering improvements in performance, reliability and DX.
• Collaborate across teams to align infra with company goals and developer workflows.
• Shape long-term vision for agentic infrastructure with scalability and reliability standards.
• Participate in on-call rotation to uphold system reliability.
• Contribute to open-source, representing Vercel's developer tools and community.
• Write clean, tested, well-documented code for reuse by others.
