Vercel in San Francisco seeks a seasoned software engineer to help build V as the primary agentic interface across Slack, web, and other surfaces. You will enable V to understand intent, plan work, select tools, and complete long-running tasks with reliability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of full-time software engineering experience.
• Strong TypeScript proficiency.
• Comfort working across product surfaces and system boundaries.
• Focus on AI interactions: context, tool use, memory, latency, interfaces.
• Open to unfamiliar technologies, domains, or responsibilities.
• Experience with agent harnesses (OpenClaw, Hermes, Pi) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build V as the primary agentic interface across Slack, web, and surfaces.
• Build the agent architecture to understand intent, plan work, select tools, recover from failures.
• Ship polished experiences combining natural-language interaction with rich interfaces.
• Develop evaluation, observability, and feedback systems for accuracy and usefulness.
• Establish primitives for teams to contribute new capabilities.
• Turn learnings into infrastructure that benefits Vercel’s customers.
