Job summary

Vercel is seeking an engineer to own the agentic infrastructure that powers builds and deployments at scale. You will design, develop, and operate backend systems that ensure fast, reliable, and secure software delivery for millions of builds daily.

You will collaborate across teams, drive architectural decisions, and mentor others while contributing to open-source projects. This role emphasizes long-term reliability and developer productivity within a fast-moving platform.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing, building, and operating backend applications and distributed systems at scale.
• Strong proficiency with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• End-to-end ownership from design to production.
• Ability to influence priorities and drive alignment across teams.
• Ability to reason about technical direction and tradeoffs.
• Mentorship and code-review mindset; raise the bar for the team.
• Curiosity and motivation to push modern software boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the infrastructure powering Vercel's build and deployment lifecycle from webhooks to scalable APIs.
• Design and operate high-performance microservices handling millions of builds daily with speed and reliability.
• Lead end-to-end projects from opportunity to long-term performance improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure with company goals and developer workflows.
• Shape the long-term vision for agentic infrastructure, setting scalability and reliability standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability.
• Contribute to open-source communities and represent Vercel's developer tools globally.
• Write clean, well-tested, documented code for broad reuse.
