Job summary

Torch Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join the Missile Defense Agency Modeling & Simulation System Integration team in Huntsville, AL. You will design, develop, and maintain low-code apps, business workflows, and collaboration tools across Power Platform, SharePoint, Jira, and Confluence.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted development, systems integration with engineers, and secure, reliable software solutions that meet mission needs.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering or automation experience.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, databases, APIs, system design, and maintainable coding practices.
• Experience using AI-powered development tools to support daily work.
• Ability to work in Agile environments and translate user needs into technical solutions.
• Detail-oriented with focus on secure, reliable, high-quality solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions, scripts, and workflows using Power Platform, SharePoint Online, Jira, and Confluence.
• Build automated processes for data extraction, transformation, reporting, and task tracking.
• Develop intuitive front-ends and forms with strong usability and user adoption focus.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineers to translate requirements into software capabilities and site configurations.
• Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint sites and Confluence spaces; plan layouts and permissions.
• Monitor automation tools for performance, reliability, data quality, and usability.
• Ensure compliance with DoD/MDA requirements and secure access controls.
• Leverage AI tools to support code generation, debugging, and optimization.
• Write maintainable code, configuration docs, user guides, and technical reports.
• Participate in sprint planning and technical interchange meetings; present progress to team and leadership.
