Job summary

Torch Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join the Missile Defense Agency Modeling & Simulation System Integration team in Huntsville, AL. You will design, develop, and maintain low-code apps, business workflows, and collaboration tools across Power Platform, SharePoint, Jira, and Confluence.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted development, systems integration with engineers, and secure, reliable software solutions that meet mission needs.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
5+ years of software engineering or automation experience.
Active Secret security clearance.
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
Strong understanding of software development principles, databases, APIs, system design, and maintainable coding practices.
Experience using AI-powered development tools to support daily work.
Ability to work in Agile environments and translate user needs into technical solutions.
Detail-oriented with focus on secure, reliable, high-quality solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders and leadership.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions, scripts, and workflows using Power Platform, SharePoint Online, Jira, and Confluence.
Build automated processes for data extraction, transformation, reporting, and task tracking.
Develop intuitive front-ends and forms with strong usability and user adoption focus.
Collaborate with Systems Engineers to translate requirements into software capabilities and site configurations.
Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint sites and Confluence spaces; plan layouts and permissions.
Monitor automation tools for performance, reliability, data quality, and usability.
Ensure compliance with DoD/MDA requirements and secure access controls.
Leverage AI tools to support code generation, debugging, and optimization.
Write maintainable code, configuration docs, user guides, and technical reports.
Participate in sprint planning and technical interchange meetings; present progress to team and leadership.
