Job summary
Torch Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Modeling & Simulation System Integration team in Huntsville, AL. You will translate operational requirements into practical, user-focused automation using Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint Online, Jira, and Confluence.
As a Software Engineer 3, you will design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions, automate workflows, and collaborate with Senior Systems Engineers to deliver
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of software development principles and maintainable coding practices.
- Experience with AI-powered development tools (GitHub Copilot, Gemini) to support daily development.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions, scripts, and workflows using Power Platform and related tools.
- Build automated processes for data extraction, transformation, reporting, and task tracking.
- Develop intuitive, user-friendly front-ends and forms with strong usability focus.
- Collaborate with Systems Engineers to translate requirements into functional capabilities.
- Design and maintain SharePoint sites and Confluence spaces.
- Monitor automation tools for performance, reliability, and data quality.
- Ensure security and compliance with DoD/MDA requirements.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
- Write clear technical documentation and reports.
- Engage with stakeholders and leadership to present progress.
