eNGINE is hiring a Software Engineer with Java experience to help build & maintain critical distributed applications that serve as the gateway for our organization's communication infrastructure. These applications process millions of messages daily, connecting to key financial markets such as the Federal Reserve, CHIPS, and other institutions. This system acts as the backbone of our backend operations—ensuring seamless connectivity, message routing, and integration with our internal banking systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical design, development, and documentation of multi-platform distributed application systems.
• Develop and support distributed applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with upper management to align technology solutions with business objectives.
• Perform system analysis and development to keep applications up to date with evolving technologies.
• Review, troubleshoot, and optimize legacy code, implementing enhancements for improved efficiency.
• Design, develop, and test new programs, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to business requirements.
• Supervise junior developers by translating system specifications into detailed task assignments.
• Ensure compliance with best practices in documentation, coding standards, and structured methodologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in developing and supporting distributed applications using Java & Spring Boot
• Extensive knowledge of Microservices development
• Local to Pittsburgh, PA
• Comfortable working 3 days/week on-site in downtown Pittsburgh.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in financial services or banking technology.
• Familiarity with real-time messaging protocols and financial transaction systems using IBM MQ or similar
• Experience with Oracle Exadata
• Angular expertise
