Base pay range

$140,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

eNGINE is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our modernization team, which partners primarily with leading law firms on multi-year digital transformation projects. This is a hands-on engineering role with leadership responsibilities—mentoring and guiding a small team of 3–4 software engineers while driving delivery across multiple client initiatives. The ideal candidate comes from a modern SaaS background, is fluent in building cloud-native software solutions, and is comfortable engaging directly with clients in a consultative capacity.

What You’ll Do

• Lead modernization projects by architecting and delivering scalable, cloud-based software solutions.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to 3–4 software engineers (not always assigned to the same project).
• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders, driving requirements gathering, solution design, and progress updates.
• Build and deploy modern applications using Python and other cloud-focused languages.
• Design, integrate, and optimize APIs for scalable, high-performance systems.
• Leverage cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure) including containerization, autoscaling, and resource optimization.
• Manage projects across the full SDLC: design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience building and deploying modern software solutions in cloud environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python and at least one additional language.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms and architecture (AWS or Azure).
• Demonstrated expertise with API development and integration.
• Familiarity with containers, orchestration, and autoscaling.
• Track record of delivering solutions across the full development lifecycle.
• Strong multitasking skills and ability to lead multiple efforts simultaneously.

Preferred:

• Experience in SaaS environments, consulting, or client-facing engineering roles.
• Prior exposure to legal tech, law firms, or professional services.
• Knowledge of AI frameworks, libraries, or advanced cloud-native architectures.
• Background in leading modernization or transformation projects.
