Job summary

General Motors seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop and deliver software for GM electrification, autonomous, engine, transmission, or chassis controls. You will implement physics and controls requirements, verify functionality at controller, system and vehicle levels, and document designs linked to test cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with embedded controls software and C/C++ programming.
• Proficiency with Java, MATLAB/Simulink, Python scripting, and INCA.

Job DescriptionDUTIES: Produce and deliver software for embedded controls systems in the electrification, autonomous, engine, transmission, or chassis space. Design, develop, and implement Physics and Controls requirements to continuously improve software for mechatronic controls and diagnostics strategies as well as controller communication. Test and demonstrate software functionality and readiness. Supply common solutions across all GM owned software. Document requirements for design solutions and link them to test cases that can demonstrate software functionality. Utilize automated test tools in build environments, benches, and vehicles to verify functionality of the feature at the Controller, System and Vehicle level. Function as an inclusive Agile Scrum team member to deliver software solutions. Coordinate and collaborate with departments within VMEC. Participate in software planning events, share ideas and learnings, and help teach and train others.
