Job summary

General Motors in Michigan is seeking a Controls Systems Engineer to design, develop, test and implement embedded controls software for electrification and chassis applications. You will work in an inclusive Agile Scrum team, deliver software across controller, system and vehicle levels, and help drive software integration.

The role requires a Bachelors in engineering and 2 years of experience in embedded software, C/C++, Auto Code Generation, Matlab/Simulink, and Python scripting; hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Two years of experience as a Controls Systems/Development/Performance Engineer or similar.
• Two years’ experience in embedded software, C/C++ programming, Auto Code Generation, Matlab/Simulink and Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Produce or deliver software for embedded controls in electrification, autonomous, engine, transmission, or chassis domains.
• Design, develop and implement physics and controls requirements and verify with tests at controller/system/vehicle level.
• Collaborate in an inclusive Agile Scrum team and coordinate with VMEC departments to share learnings.

Job DescriptionDUTIES: Produce or deliver software for embedded controls systems in the electrification, autonomous, engine, transmission, or chassis space. Design, development and implementation of Physics and Controls requirements to continuously improve software for mechatronic controls and diagnostics strategies as well as controller communication. Test and demonstrate software functionality and readiness. Supply common solutions across all company owned software. Document requirements for design solutions and link them to test cases that can demonstrate software functionality. Utilize automated test tools in build environments, benches, and vehicles to verify functionality of the feature at the Controller, System and Vehicle level Team Collaboration. Function as an inclusive Agile Scrum team member to deliver software solutions. Coordinate and collaborate with departments within VMEC. Have a voice in software planning events, share ideas and learnings, and help teach and train others. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study.
