Job summary

General Motors seeks a Software Engineer to produce and deliver software for embedded controls systems across electrification, autonomous, engine, transmission, or chassis spaces. You will design and implement requirements for mechatronic controls and diagnostics, test functionality, and work within an inclusive Agile Scrum team reporting to VMEC.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science and two years' experience with embedded software, C/C++, auto code

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer/Developer or related role with embedded controls software, and proficiency in C/C++ and Auto Code Generation; experience with Java, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and INCA.

Job Description

Produce and deliver software for embedded controls systems in the electrification, autonomous, engine, transmission, or chassis space. Design, develop, and implement Physics and Controls requirements to continuously improve software for mechatronic controls and diagnostics strategies as well as controller communication. Test and demonstrate software functionality and readiness. Supply common solutions across all GM owned software. Document requirements for design solutions and link them to test cases that can demonstrate software functionality. Utilize automated test tools in build environments, benches, and vehicles to verify functionality of the feature at the Controller, System and Vehicle level. Function as an inclusive Agile Scrum team member to deliver software solutions. Coordinate and collaborate with departments within VMEC. Participate in software planning events, share ideas and learnings, and help teach and train others.

Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related field of study and Two (2) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related role. Two (2) years of experience with: Embedded controls software; C and C++ programming; Auto Code Generation; and Java, Matlab, Simulink, Python scripting, and INCA.
