Insight Global is hiring two mid-level Software Engineers to support a large healthcare client, Solventum, focusing on a backend system and GovCloud deployments. You will work within a Scrum team, contribute to microservices migration, and gain cloud deployment experience under senior guidance.
The role involves debugging, QA collaboration, and occasional on-call support. Strong Java/C#/Python skills, AWS familiarity, and SQL/NoSQL basics are required.
Insight Global is hiring two mid-level Software Engineers to support a large healthcare client, Solventum (formerly 3M Health Care). These engineers will join a team of ~8 supporting a high-priority, high-visibility autonomous coding application, a product with attention from the highest levels of Solventum leadership. This is a backend-focused role building on an existing product that is still early in its lifecycle, with active feature development, new workflow integration, and preparation for government (GovCloud) and international deployments. These engineers will operate with some guidance from the senior engineer and are expected to grow into the stack, picking up cloud skills as they go.
Serve as an active member of a scrum team across all phases of the SDLC (design, development, code reviews).
Work on active development items and deployments under the direction of the senior engineer and manager.
Attend daily standup at 10:30am ET (~30 min), followed by a \"parking lot\" session to work through issues and unblock teammates.
Contribute to efforts to move into GovCloud boundaries and to break the existing monolith into discrete microservices.
Respond to QA/tester-identified issues and site-reported issues.
Participate in an on-call support rotation (day and evening shifts monitor the cloud environment). On-call involves receiving an alert, checking dashboards for client-specific processing issues, and reporting via a Teams channel or service ticket. Escalations are rare, typically about once a month for an overnight call, and it is usually quiet.

5+ years of software development experience with a related bachelor's degree, OR ~10 years of experience without a degree.
Strong in 2 of the following 3 languages: Java, C#, and Python. Java + C# preferred (production code is written in Java and C#; Python is used as a helper for deployment/testing and is easy to pick up). Team leans heavily toward Java.
Hands-on AWS experience (1+ years acceptable, more is better). Willingness to pick up additional cloud/deployment skills on the job.
Strong debugging skills and a self-starting \"doer\" mindset; able to pick up work and run with it.
Basic SQL/NoSQL understanding (query structure and components; relational database onboarding expected, so deep expertise is not required). - Deeper AWS knowledge (a key team gap): IAM roles, subnets, VPCs, testing connectivity between components, and collaborating with other teams to ensure infrastructure is wired correctly.
Front-end experience: Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript (front end is minimal but a plus).
Stronger SQL depth: writing stored procedures for the front end and querying the database for debugging (no DBA-level work required).
CloudWatch experience, plus telemetry/monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana).
Healthcare industry experience.
