Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Laboratory Software Engineer to lead the design, development, delivery, and support of enterprise laboratory software platforms and applications, guiding AI-enabled development and secure, scalable solutions.

You will manage onshore and offshore engineering teams, own project delivery, drive code quality, and collaborate with IT Operations to deploy and support mission-critical systems in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years in a leadership or management role
• Hands-on experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Strong experience with backend development, REST APIs, and microservices architecture
• Expertise with Java frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot
• Experience with Python frameworks including Flask, Django, or FastAPI
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Experience applying AI-assisted development tools and modern software engineering best practices
• Proven success leading software implementations within scientific, laboratory, healthcare, or regulated environments
• Experience hiring, coaching, and developing engineering teams
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience serving as an escalation point for complex technical issues
• Cloud platform experience with AWS and/or Azure Enterprise application development within laboratory or healthcare environments
• Software delivery in highly regulated industries
• Leading distributed engineering teams across multiple locations
