Peraton in Herndon, VA seeks a Software Development Manager to lead multiple agile teams within the DOS CS Modernization program. You will maintain the project roadmap, align with customer priorities, and oversee delivery across teams to ensure timely, compliant software solutions.

The role requires hands-on development experience, strong communication, and a DoD clearance. You will guide performance reviews, backlog alignment, and cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced government environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in software/technical roles.
• 5+ years as a technical lead on software projects.
• Hands-on software development across full lifecycle.
• Experience with agile methodologies in complex programs.
• Familiarity with application lifecycle tooling (CI/CD, code scanning, automated tests).
• Excellent verbal and written communication for briefings and proposals.
• Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher); interim Secret acceptable.
• US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for software delivery in an Agile lifecycle.
• Align project backlogs with customer priorities and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with architecture to translate requirements within constraints.
• Ensure software compliance with standards across agile teams.
• Supervise agile teams and manage performance, timesheets, and travel approvals.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Participate in customer planning and project implementations.
• Maintain regular inter-organizational and customer communications.
